New Smyrna Beach is a great vacation getaway any time of the year, but especially during the wintertime to escape any cold weather back at home.
Even so, swimming at the beach is probably off the list of things to do if you’re on vacation during the winter since the water cools down.
But there are still plenty of things you can check out that are near your New Smyrna Beach ocean view rentals. We’ve come up with a list of some of the top attractions for a visit to New Smyrna Beach.
Visit the New Smyrna Beach Parks
There are several area parks that are always fun to check out for the day. Smyrna Dunes Park, Flagler Avenue Park, and 27th Avenue Park are all excellent options within a close distance to the vacation rentals in the area.
Smyrna Dunes Park is on North Peninsula Ave and is open from sunrise to sunset daily. It is $10 per vehicle to get in, and is an ideal place to head to if you’re searching for outdoor activities.
Surrounded on three sides by water, the park is the place to check out the natural habitats of animals in the area, do some fishing, or even take a short walk or hike.
Take two miles of an elevated walkway to see the protected sand dunes here and observe the beautiful natural environment. There are also several nature trails, fishing spots, and even an observation tower.
Go on One of the Boat Tours
One of the best ways to see all that New Smyrna Beach has to offer is by getting right out on the water.
Manatees and dolphins are known to live in the water surrounding the area and there are several species of birds that you’ll be able to spot as well.
There are tons of different boating tours to choose from. You can take the Turtle Mound River tour from the Canaveral Seashore National Park and see tons of wildlife along the way.
The area offers tons of restaurants to explore that won’t ever be too far from New Smyrna Beach vacation rentals. Head to the Breakers Ocean Front Restaurant for burgers, beers, and a view of the ocean.
Or you can hit up a spot like The Garlic for delicious Italian food with an Old-World style. Check out happy hour at a place like the Yellow Dog Eats Kitchen and Bar for American food and a warm atmosphere.
You could spend your entire vacation exploring and eating your way through the top-rated restaurants and pubs scattered throughout New Smyrna Beach!
